Sharon Lawrence Instagram – Day 4 of the @ncazaleafest was a whirlwind, in the best way! We began with the ribbon-cutting for the garden tour where we met the dedicated members of the Cape Fear Garden Club, then onto the legendary #garden party at #airliegardens where a magnificent, healthy 500 year old oak tree presides. A highlight for me was speaking with the @UNCW Sustainability team https://uncw.edu/seahawk-life/services/sustainability/about/ ( @sustaindub )which
watched over our impact on the historic grounds where only compostable dining material were used.
Mom and I got our puppy fix from the service dog training organization and I got to thank the law enforcement particularly @newhanoverso Sheriff Ed McMahon and his officers for their service during the week.
The weather was perfect for spring fashions and photos by the waterway, for Middle Of The Island Catering’s fried chicken and sipping on sponsored @aperolspritzofficial . Did you know that the 77 year old #azaleafestival brought in $50 million to @newhanoverco
People were enjoying each other in such a genuine way that it makes me miss their warmth and hospitality already. President @auheel58 and @mayorbillsaffo , thank you for the throwing the best #gardenparty on the Eastern Seaboard!
After dancing on the deck of the @bluewaterdining with future #ncazaleafestival President @chrgore , he assisted my official handprint process with expertise.
The evening called for wardrobe change for the traditional photo with my motorcycle escort, one that I’ll treasure, then off to the Queen’s Dance Party for girls pursuing the honor of representing their local communities.
Finally a chance to relax at the @chaseric concert at @liveoakbankpav with my friend and personal escort, the indispensable and indefatigable @jenhenunc 🙏🏻 BTW, the glam by @elbluebird and @kristiwt held up for 16 hours!
