Vikas Khanna Instagram - Today December 2nd, 23 years ago I moved to the U.S.
One of the biggest decisions I made in my life.
Leaving everything that was mine & familiar to start all over again.

Fell in love with Manhattan. It gave me the power to bring Indian Cuisine & Culture to the World’s biggest platforms.

Some of the biggest highlights remain-
1. Selling food on the streets of NY.
2. Cooking at James Beard with my sister Radha behind me.
3. Radha’s Graduation from FIT.
4. Cooking for 4 American Presidents.
5. Working with Gordon Ramsay.
6. Working with my mentor-friend Eric Ripert
7. Serving more than 80 Million Meals from NY during pandemic.
8. Launching 41 books with the most varied subjects.
9. Winning a Michelin Star
10. Standing applause for THE LAST COLOR at United Nations Headquarters.

Vikas Khanna Instagram - The second book in BBC (Bungalow Book Club) has to be iconic Indian Home cooking by Suvir.
I still remember walking into Barnes & Noble on 5th Avenue & seeing this book on the center table. (August 31, 2004)
I had witnessed amazing Indian food writers in America, but @suvirsaran single handedly changed the game & turned everything so personal about Indian cooking.

My first self-published book on Ayurveda was dedicated to him in 2005.

I’m so honored that during his recent trip to NY, he visited Bungalow’s library & the kitchen.

A true friend. A legend. 20 Years of Indian Home Cooking legacy.

2. Dearest Ajay, you came in my life when I was lost & taking such a risk of hosting MasterChef 14 years ago.

Vikas Khanna Instagram - From a homeless shelter to selling food on the streets of NY to being broke so many times to closing restaurants to failed books……. to a big announcement on Feb 3rd.

So many broken gaps were filled by your love & support everyday. You all helped me survive & thrive.
Someone once commented who knew the BIG struggle I was facing & said, “When you win, India wins. Just keep going.”

Your love helped me create a cultural bridge between India & the U.S.

I’m forever grateful.
See you on Feb 3rd.

Vikas Khanna Instagram - This image is from Radha’s first Diwali.
50 years ago. 1974. ❤️

Faith is about continuity & celebrating traditions of our ancestors. Hindus across the World celebrate consecration of Ayodhya Ram Temple tomorrow.

Though I’m not there physically, but I will celebrate it on Times Square today evening.

📷 My Grandparents ❤️🕊️
Vikas Khanna Instagram - Though most of the day I was at Bungalow kitchen, I had to visit Radha’s favorite Ganesh Temple Flushing for dosa.
This used to be our favorite ritual, visiting the temple & then the canteen.
With all my love for the chefs there I say, that the dosa doesn’t taste the same without her.
I’ve been cooking & creating restaurants for almost 40 years, I can say that for sure that it’s all about the company we share our meals & celebrate.

For 47 years my sister was my best friend & the most amazing & irritating person as sisters can be. ❤️
But always the first person to stand by me.
Thank you God for giving me a sister, but wish she had a longerrrr life.
ALWAYS & FOREVER - Viku

Vikas Khanna Instagram - A friend sent this image in our group. Holy God.
My whole childhood & growing up is defined in this single frame. So so much love & respect for those humble times.
They UNITED every single family in India.
Ohhhh I miss Bauji & Biji.
Everyone had to finish their bath & sit together on a Sunday before Ramayan started at 9.00 AM. ❤️
Sacred days. No one in younger generations will ever relate to the power of this image.
#Ramayan

Vikas Khanna Instagram - Yesterday was my Papa’s Birthday.
And I kept thinking about him all day.

In 2002, he visited me in New York & at that time I was selling food on the streets of New York in Tribeca. I know that he was heartbroken of see me starting from the very bottom.

It’s been a long journey to represent Indian Cuisine on the highest scale & dignity in North America.

I hope he will be proud to watch @bungalowny being created.

I hope he is blessing us to represent our culture to the World.
I hope he is proud. ❤️⭐️❤️⭐️

Vikas Khanna Instagram - Holy Godddd.
Jan 15th, 2010 I submitted UTSAV - A Culinary Epic of Indian Festivals to Bloomsbury Publishing.
I remember taking 2400 pages of research-recipes-images-notes to the London office in 2 big suitcases.

Vikas Khanna - 80.9K Likes - The second book in BBC (Bungalow Book Club) has to be iconic Indian Home cooking by Suvir.

So many broken gaps were filled by your love & support everyday. You all helped me survive & thrive.

Your love helped me create a cultural bridge between India & the U.S.

I’m forever grateful.
See you on Feb 3rd.

Caption : From a homeless shelter to selling food on the streets of NY to being broke so many times to closing restaurants to failed books……. to a big announcement on Feb 3rd. So many broken gaps were filled by your love & support everyday. You all helped me survive & thrive. Someone once commented who knew the BIG struggle I was facing & said, “When you win, India wins. Just keep going.” Your love helped me create a cultural bridge between India & the U.S. I’m forever grateful. See you on Feb 3rd. #NewChapter 🇮🇳 🇺🇸

Vikas Khanna - 26.4K Likes - Though most of the day I was at Bungalow kitchen, I had to visit Radha’s favorite Ganesh Temple Flushing for dosa.

When I was getting into the industry, I was often told loud & clear about the limitations of being a “Desi” chef on global platforms. Today Indian chefs are influencing economies around the World. From Michelin Stars to entrepreneurs to leaders to building diplomatic relationships to culinary tourism. They are the Ambassadors of our nation to the World. Vikas Khanna - 19.2K Likes - Yesterday was my Papa’s Birthday.

Jan 15th, 2010 I submitted UTSAV - A Culinary Epic of Indian Festivals to Bloomsbury Publishing.
I remember taking 2400 pages of research-recipes-images-notes to the London office in 2 big suitcases.

Nothing in history of cookbooks anything like this was conceived or created before. 1,200 pages of India’s celebrations. And showed the first copy to @virsanghvi at Leela, Delhi.

The book was launched at Cannes Film Festival, India Pavilion. France.

And later custom made copies were presented to
1. My Maa ❤️
2. Honorable PM of India Shri Narendra Modi ji
3. United States President Joe Biden
4. Pope Francis
5. Mark Zuckerberg
6. Queen Elizabeth
7. United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon
8. HH the Dalai Lama
9. Former President Barack Obama
10. Shah Rukh Khan
11. Lata Mangeshkar ji
12. Amitabh Bachchan
13. Former President Bill Clinton
14. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau

No one should define our limits…..so many people around the World said that it’s not possible. But we did it.

LETS GO INDIAAAAA. ❤️🇮🇳 🌎

Dishes, profiles, covers, new book.

Though I was completely heartbroken from @americansikhfilm not selected for Academy shortlisting.
But I’ve learnt a BIG lesson from our Exec Producer @guneetmonga
Please bookmark her words -
