Andrew Phung Instagram – “Yes and” is one of those core improv lessons that I try to use in my daily life. Saying “yes and” and supporting your partners ideas. I’ve been making a more conscious effort to say that as a parent. Recently, my younger son asked to do some graffiti. My gut as a parent was to say “no, we can’t do that”, but I stopped myself and asked “why can’t we do that?” So we hit up a great graffiti paint shop, finally used a bunch of old wood I had in the garage and spent the afternoon doing some graffiti. It ended up with us chilling in the backyard for hours, painting, looking up cool designs to try, just talking, and encouraging one another.
