No, of course it’s not perfect; but it’s our country and the best in the world and we have the chance to make it even more amazing. We are the generation to put hope into action. I’ve got a big week coming up starting Sunday night and I have so much to be grateful for. I am extremely proud of both of these projects shot only two days apart. The responses from critics for Biltmore and early screening audiences for The Shift have been overwhelming to me. Watch them both and please share your thoughts about them in the comments below.
Death is such a complicated thing for all of us. What happens to us? Where do we go? What’s next? Or is it just the end? The acceptance of death is the beginning of wisdom and acknowledging our limited time in our meat suits makes us ask really good questions, questions like what is the meaning of life? I know what I think, but I’d love to hear your thoughts as we move into Good Friday. What is the meaning of your life? Jesus taught us something unique about life and death. Jesus died on the cross and then three days later he defeated death and came back to life. This is why we celebrate Easter. To that, my former pastor, Dr. Alan Meenan, had something he would say every Easter. This is his direct quote and he would say this to his congregation every Easter – “Easter morning, depicts the fact that long before dawn while we are still asleep, the Easter chorus, “He is Risen” is taken up by the islands of the Pacific and continues unabated across Australasia, Asia and India. Before the cry dissipates, the strain is heard throughout Africa and Europe until it is our turn as dawn breaks in the Americas and we, too take up the chorus: He is Risen!” This beautiful imagery illustrates for us the idea that on every corner of this beautiful earth, people, like the rising sun, will celebrate the glory of Christ and his victory over death. In short, we will be lifting up our hope, practicing our hope, and living in hope. Dr. Meenan would also end his service every Sunday with a benediction (a good word) and it went something like this “ “The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord make His face to shine upon you. The Lord lift up HIs countenance upon you and give you peace… “ and then Meenan liked to add “on this day and throughout the coming days of your life until the sunburst of eternal glory when we shall be forever with the Lord.” Have an amazing weekend y’all. Don’t worry about your life—wondering what you are going to eat or drink, or what you are going to wear. They never sow nor reap nor store away in barns, and yet your Heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you much more valuable to him than they are? Can any of you, however much you worry, make yourself an inch taller? And why do you worry about clothes? Consider how the wild flowers grow. They neither work nor weave, but I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was never arrayed like one of these! Now if God so clothes the flowers of the field, which are alive today and burnt in the stove tomorrow, is He not much more likely to clothe you?

Iceland, the land of fire and ice. My son celebrated his 18th birthday there, on a glacier, exploring an ice cave. We saw the Northern Lights as they went off at the strike of midnight on his special day. A magical place filled with wonderful people. More posts on the job at later date. I can’t wait for you to see what we made. What an adventure.

It’s serious business when a union goes on strike. As you know, SAG-AFTRA is on strike standing in #solidarity with the Writer’s Guild of America. The issues are real and the demands are fair, we want to show you stories and make a living doing so. Actors and writers can ply our trades anywhere on any stage, but we love Hollywood because, mainly, over the past 110 years we’ve helped build this town and its industry and we don’t want to give it away to new mediums or platforms of distribution. That’s what’s really at stake here, new ways to bring you our stories shouldn’t mean less pay to us for doing the same job. Today was my first day walking, I was at Warner Brothers, a studio I love and have worked for. Grateful to the folks who have been picketing every day for the past 102 days and for our Captains like @mishagonzcirkl who are volunteering every single day! Thank you @_kismetcollective_ for letting us use your restrooms. And thank you @austinbasis and @colleenbasis for making this serious business also a lot of fun.
