Lee Hsien Loong Instagram – Pleased to call on Kazakhstan President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev during his State Visit to Singapore. He is an old friend of Singapore and we had good discussions when we last met in 2019, on the sidelines of the Supreme Eurasian Economic Council Meeting in Armenia.
Singapore shares warm relations with Kazakhstan and we have exchanged many high-level visits over the years. Kazakhstan is our largest trading partner in Central Asia, and President Tokayev and I discussed opportunities for both our countries to do more together for our mutual benefit. We may be geographically distant, but we share common interests, particularly in promoting connectivity and supply chain resilience. Aside from trade, he also shared with me his encounter with MM Lee Kuan Yew from many years back! š
