Phil Collins Instagram – “Against All Odds (Take a Look At Me Now)” was released as a single #OnThisDay 40 years ago!
Originally written for Phil’s debut album “Face Value”, the song was left off the final tracklist due to Phil’s preference for other ballads that he had written at the time. Phil intended for the song to stay unreleased until he was approached to create the theme song for the neo-noir film “Against All Odds” by director Taylor Hackford. Due to being on tour with @genesis_band at the time, he sent the unfinished version of the track to Hackford who loved it and insisted he finish it for the film’s soundtrack.
