If you went to school in America then you’re probably familiar with the PeeChee folder, they were ubiquitous growing up here. I wanted to do an art project with Lance Mountain so I suggested we do this, he was game so we figured out how they would have done a cover featuring skateboarding. We had fun putting it together, lots of laughs, we should have done this as an ad years ago, can’t believe we didn’t.

Charlie who owns and operates the gallery I’ll be showing at this fall put together a photo session this weekend to shoot some of the key boards from my collection – he brought in surfer/skater/filmmakers Dana Shaw and Colin Nearman and the four of us spent the weekend setting up boards, shooting them, hanging, eating great veggie burritos, and having lots of in depth conversations all while burning reel after reel of actual film. Yes! Lots of film was exposed and it was so nice to once again hear the soothing sound of super 8 and 16m film wind it’s way through magazines and over sprockets. It was a weekend very well spent all powered by enthusiasm and stoke. @dana_shaw – @colin_nearman.
