You can’t have entertainment like this most recent season of #Succession without these minds and this craft. You couldn’t have had the laughter and relief #TedLasso gave during the active months of pandemic quarantine. I wouldn’t have had the gift of the words I got to speak as Regina in #MAID, or as Jukebox in #POWER, or, or, or. There is no computer generated replacement that can give you the lived experiences they do. And yet they are expected to create while not knowing who will take care of their kids, or how they can afford to go to the doctor, or if they will be compensated (sometimes at all) for work they’ve done. This is not a safe environment. This is not a fair environment. This is not equitable or acceptable. This is hard for all of us, and yet I stand with the #wgastrike, and I vote ✅YES to authorize @sagaftra to strike. People deserve a living wage. Actors deserve the safety of knowing AI won’t be taking the place of our images or our voices. We all know that “new media” is no longer NEW, and changes must be made in compensation.
