We have been working tirelessly to #endFGM in Kenya and around the world. Please follow @mekunoproject for more information. As many of you know, I spend a great deal of time advocating for the girls and women in Kenya—both in the field (on the actual continent of Africa) and here in the States through various fundraising and educational efforts. A short time ago we took our cause to Capitol Hill where we laid everything before the lawmakers of our country. We told them the firsthand stories of the girls in single digits who were forced to undergo FGM and be married as children. We will NOT stop until every girl has the opportunity to live a life free of this harmful practice. My heart beats for these young women.
