Leigh and Matt described not being ‘cool’ enough to break into the Austin music scene, but they were accepted in the Dallas scene. Matt would get out of college classes and drive himself and Leigh, who was still in high school, up to Dallas to perform and that’s how they got their start. The two detail their love / hate relationship with “Kiss Me” which was a massive hit early in their career, prompted by tv/movie placements like “She’s All That” and “Dawson’s Creek.” They discuss getting a massive break with David Letterman having them on his show to perform and then pulling them in for an unplanned interview. Today I woke up and felt extra emotional, woohoo! 😵💫 I had a terrible nightmare that was so vivid; it really upset me. Also Aunt Flo is calling which always makes me sensitive, (even though I forget this every month 🙄). I was so thankful I had made plans to meet @beausandashley at yoga w our soul sister @stopyogatime teaching the class. I needed it. Not only did I stretch out my stiff body, I cried, I released my fear around my nightmare and realized I didn’t need to fear things out of my control. And that I’m doing a great job really trying my best, even though I’m intense and even though I mess up. My heart is really trying to be free and shine love in the world. And yoga really helps me to free myself. I’m so grateful for the practice, and the sisterhood it has brought me in our quest to keep elevating. So here’s a reel w some of my yoga soul sisters (we’re all moms just trying!) clearing our mind body and souls! God bless you and grant you freedom today🙌
