Christina Pascucci Instagram – My latest trip to San Francisco was a mix of emotions.
I learned about how 70% of the drug and fentanyl overdoses are happening IN fixed housing. Harm reduction policies that allow drug use in shelters are in fact, harming.
But, I left hopeful. I met with students at SFSU, bright and full of promise, who understand we need a new generation of leadership. I met with changemakers who care deeply about their city, and are taking steps to bring it back to what it can be.
As one example, the Salvation Army’s Way Out program is a new recovery-focused program that’s spearheading positive change.
People are waking up.
We can’t solve these problems with the same thinking/leaders that created them.
