‘Journalism was one of the roads I wanted to go down’
Following the story dubbed ‘Wagatha Christie’ 🔎 @coleen_rooney revealed to @EmmaBarnett that she would have liked to have been a journalist if her life had been different.
She found herself in the heart of a story in 2019 when she accused Rebekah Vardy’s Instagram account as being the source of leaked stories about her to The Sun newspaper.
@coleen_rooney won the subsequent libel case brought against her by Rebekah Vardy, a fellow wife of a footballer, Jamie Vardy. Rebekah Vardy continues to deny she was the source of those stories.
In a radio exclusive interview ahead of her new documentary, Coleen Rooney: The Real Wagatha Story, that comes out tonight on Disney , Coleen said she enjoyed journalistic writing at secondary school and probably would have studied journalism at university.
She also told Emma that she likes football more now seeing her sons play than when her husband did.
