Dehenna Davison Instagram – A very busy Tuesday (not Wednesday, despite the epic water bottle) serving on the Leasehold Bill Committee. It feels strange not being behind the Dispatch Box, as recently I was the Minister for a number of Bill Committees!
Today we’re hearing evidence from campaigners and industry experts on the Bill, which aims to improve life for leaseholders in a wide range of ways. It includes extending lease extension terms, reducing ground rents, making it easier for leaseholders to buy their freehold, and improving transparency of service charges and administration charges.
Ultimately, I want to see the Government ban leaseholds altogether, and I hope we can push them further as the Bill progresses. | Posted on 17/Jan/2024 01:19:23
