Diana Nyad Instagram – Jude Frere is a second-grader in Hickory, North Carolina. She and her mom Melissa contacted me through Bonnie a couple of months ago. I sent her a short video, encouraging her to believe she can be anything she wants to be. Well, in the meantime, Jude had a school assignment this week whereby the kids in her class were to dress and make a short presentation as someone they admire. To my delight, Jude chose me! When they found out I’d be in Asheville, NC for our EverWalk event, they arranged with Bonnie to drive the two hours to meet me, even though I was busy with our walkers and only had a few minutes. Jude did her presentation for me, Bonnie and a few EverWalkers and here she is presenting it at her school the next day! Well done, Jude!!!!
Can you imagine what an honor it is to have a child admire you? I come across people in their 20’s, 30’s, 40’s who tell me they did their school essay or project about me way back in 5th grade…and they remember. As I say, I couldn’t be more honored.
