Last two shows of the twenty year anni / exquisite corpse tour. Feels good to be ending in Texas. Bittersweet and full of love. Thank you ♥️
RADIATE LIKE THIS 5.6.22 To be honest, I am still processing the experience of making this album. I was newly pregnant writing and studio w the girls until our baby’s birth (born the day LA shut down) into pandemic times and working from home up until she was two, far from my mates usually and in a totally new world on every level. It was full of some of the most beauty we’ve had making a record. Full of light. Some of our best and most considered (lolll) And then there was the loneliness. The tiredness. The pressure to fiiiiiinish in really uncertain times in really new circumstances. The balance of being with your baby and being with your work. Something so new it seemed like an impossibility to ever feel rightness trying to thrive in both. The self doubt doing things alone in my room, like I’m sure we all felt when we went to work separated with the intention to make it whole and complete and speak for all of us. The push to make assets and posts and content and ‘sell our brand’ which didn’t come naturally for us at this time. Especially stretched out all over the world and even in different time zones. Trying to make it come together like we can so effortlessly a lot of the time when we are together. And the feeling when it came out like it kind of just floated out into the ether it came from back into itself and disappeared. But then we had you all. And we had the nature of the making and the ‘releasing’. The baby was finally born. And even if one person connected or felt or needed or anything… the letting go and allowing it to be what it is. An expression. And a gift to be able to give. It’s a whole thang. An alchemical process. A death and rebirth. A cycle. And I wouldn’t change it. We are lucky to do it. Even tho it hurt like hell, it healed. Thank you. To babies x (and Jenny Stella and T and all the midwives)

Was such a fun journey to flex some writing 💪 on @appletv new show The Buccaneers thanks to captain trips @steezmeez and her right hand @omaryakar Thanks also to @mrmattbiffa for giving me shots to take! As I struggle these days to find breath and hope in this world, I am reminded in my microcosmic world of warpaint that we have a voice. We have the power to use it and it can only be silenced by our selves. How we use that voice and how connected to our humanity that voice is is our choice. But the more connected we are the more that voice sings the world we dream of into being. Thank you South America for your celebration of life and the reminder to bring IT. Thank you @warpaint and everyone who met us on the RADIATE LIKE THIS tour. The most harmonic run of shows we’ve ever had, which seems appropriate for an album titled as such. We are a symbol of shared humanity, learning to coexist vs exert control that separates and disconnects us. That has been our personal journey. And it seems to be our global human journey as well. Coexistence where everyone has enough is well within our means. Coexistence > Illusory control is empowerment. That’s the design. Our success is in the devotion we put towards something bigger than our individual selves…to show US it can be done, and with the highs and lows learn all the lessons of relationship along the way. To share the journey and all that it entails. It is this purpose that has transformed me most, and the gift that will matter most to me when it’s gone. But also, we timeless! We (the people) work through the resistance which has trouble reconciling making ART in a world full of suffering, remembering the making is a form of resistance against those forces we can feel helpless against ✌️

In honor of my childhood, upcoming pilgrimage to Vegas (sounds like an oxymoron), freshening the space for the muses, and just learning my mom particularly liked the line ‘A harbor in the tempest’. Oh, and all I want is you, too ✌️
