Emma Barnett Instagram – A day filled with joy, creativity, colour and…. rain! Loved going with my great friend Rendah Beshoori @ren2852 to see what has been conjured at the #chelseaflowershow – it was a feast for the eyes from the moment we left the tube station at Sloane Square before even getting into the show… and then the heavens opened and never stopped. And despite both wearing cream that was far from cream by the end of the day 😜 – we happily ploughed on. A friendship formed at the school gate, we’ve dealt with worse weather and there were no 6 year-old boys to manage.
Huge thanks to all of the gardeners, designers, nurseries and everyone else in putting on such a fabulous show. As someone who knows little about plants and flowers, but would like to learn more, it was also a beautiful education. And I met a few of our @bbcradio4 @bbctodayprogramme listeners too. An extra bonus.
Such great fun to see @clare_meandem – aka the (Northern) powerhouse behind @me_andem after taking her amazing British brand to NYC. We had a great chat about all things Manchester and Saddleworth, from whence we hail, and the brilliance of trousers with side zips that don’t cause tummy pressure (although the ones I am wearing have a frontal zip but are loose enough). This is not an ad. I’ve shopped at hers for years and my endo-ridden body is grateful for her design prowess!
Now I’ve finished wringing out my sodden trousers from said rain – I wanted to share some snaps. Including us taking shelter in a stunning summer house (no, me neither until I asked) that I have mentally moved into but sadly didn’t take home on the tube. 🚇
