Gabbi Tuft Instagram – We tested the blood sugar response at the end 😅
–
The amount of protein in this specific shake was enough to offset any added sugars and maltodextrin in the ingredients, as Britt’s already high blood sugar dropped by 24 points after drinking it.
–
While this is great news for keeping blood sugar lower, we do have 2 chemical artificial sweeteners in this shake.
–
The takeaway: higher protein helps to reduce already high blood sugar level BUT how you ingest that protein is up to you. This protein isolate was fast absorbing so it acted quickly to help reduce blood sugar levels.
–
The choice is yours, and I never judge.

Gabbi Tuft Instagram – No, it’s not “just” seaweed.
–
Carrageenan is found in many pre-made protein shakes such as Premiere Protein, Fairlife, and many others.
–
While the calories and macros may check out on a lot of these protein shakes, it’s the ingredients that can do just as much damage to the body as other eating patterns.
–
And while a lot of doctors recommend these shakes to their patients for dropping pounds, it’s important to remember that most MD’s stopped doing research years ago. They are double and triple booked with their appointments from morning until evening, leaving little time, or no time, to spend the days and hours needed, pouring over published studies and researching solutions.
