Sharing some pictures and thoughts from our walk to Siddhivinayak temple this morning .
We left at 4:45 in the morning and reached at 8:08 am . We went without any breaks covering a distance of slightly over 15kms . This is not really the best weather to be walking on the streets , but I have to say that the weather gods were kind to us .
I have been doing this for many years now . Walking to Siddhivinayak at least once a year , normally it’s in the beginning of the year .
But 2023 started with a lot of travel , so had to do it around this time .
I really enjoy starting my year with this walk … what it brings to my life apart from making Ganpati happy (assuming so ) is a lot many things . To begin with a lil test of grit /determination , as it takes courage to wake up at 3 am and still stick by your decision , in that hour of deep sleep and trust me in this weather walking at 4 am also is pretty exhausting. This excursion also brings to notice the beautiful structures and glory this chaotic city has . The city’s interesting nuances , it’s charming transition from night to dawn from solitude to a sea of people …Every one every thing all at once. The fallen flowers , the broken streets and the footpaths which are now home to so many… reminding you to just look around and be grateful for the abundance in your life .
Also upon reaching the temple the folding of hands queuing up for darshan and then asking undeer ( Ganpati ki savari) for all that your heart desires , is a reminder , That struggles should only make one humble not arrogant and no matter where you’re coming from asking for something will not make you small .
Then comes my favourite part, that is the mandatory trip to my favourite cafe madras … almost feels like you’ve earned the meal .
Heart and tummy both full .

That’s me being touristy in the city I live . 🖤
Thanks to my sister who’s visiting and just like that ,to show her around I may have discovered a few new spots in the city that has been home for so long .
Which just made me think , how we take our surroundings for granted and forget to embrace the beauty around us . #mumbai #mumbaimerijaan #embrace #gratitude
