That's why the "Kids Can" Trash Monster Cleanup Event was createdโ€”to empower kids and families with the knowledge to tackle litter head-on. ๐ŸŽจ Led by local high schoolers, the event kicked off with a beach cleanup, hauling in over 20 pounds of single-use plastic. Using a Roots & Shoots grant, they procured art supplies to unleash their creativity and transform the collected trash into scary monster sculptures. ๐Ÿค By banding together, this community didn't just clean up; they crafted a solution. They repurposed trash, averting water pollution, wildlife threats, and vacation disruptions, showcasing their creativity and environmental stewardship. ๐Ÿ“ธ The "Kids Can" Trash Monster Cleanup Event Alt text Slide 1: A photo of three kids and an adult using litter pick-up sticks to grab trash on the beach and put it into garbage bags. Jane Goodall Instagram – ๐ŸŒฟ Meet Flo, the Fearless Matriarch of Gombe! ๐Ÿต

First appearing in Janeโ€™s camp in 1962, Flo, accompanied by her devoted children โ€” Fifi, Figan, Faben, Flint, and Flame โ€” exemplified the essence of motherhood in the chimpanzee world.

Jane observed Flo as unwavering in her support of and dedication to her children. She was known for her distinctive notch in the ear and her steadfast spirit. Jane Goodall herself was moved to tears by the news of Flo’s passing in 1972, a testament to the profound impact Flo had on all who knew her.

Today, we honor Flo’s memory and celebrate the extraordinary power of maternal love, which transcends species ๐ŸŒณ๐Ÿ’š

Jane Goodall Instagram – ๐ŸŒŸ Jane’s global 90th birthday tour continues! Just last week in Prague, Dr. Goodall met with students, representatives, and teachers from five different schools, hosted by @ecp_prague.

๐Ÿธ Here, you see a student group sharing about their impactful frog restoration project. They also gifted Jane a charming paper frog model. She loved it so much, that it’s currently keeping her stuffed monkey, Mr. H, company in Jane’s hotel room!

Stay tuned for more stories from Jane on the road. (#DidYouKnow: She travels at least 300 days a year to spread her message of hope?) ๐ŸŒ
