Jane Goodall Instagram – β˜€οΈ Turning trash into treasure! β˜€οΈ

🌊 Join the excitement in St. Petersburg, Florida, where @keeppinellasbeautiful’s “Kids Can” Trash Monster Cleanup Event brought together changemakers of all ages to take on the staggering 8 million metric tons of plastic flooding our oceans each year.

πŸ– Plastic pollution harms animals, people, and even economies β€” especially in Florida, which relies heavily on tourism. That’s why the “Kids Can” Trash Monster Cleanup Event was createdβ€”to empower kids and families with the knowledge to tackle litter head-on.

🎨 Led by local high schoolers, the event kicked off with a beach cleanup, hauling in over 20 pounds of single-use plastic. Using a Roots & Shoots grant, they procured art supplies to unleash their creativity and transform the collected trash into scary monster sculptures.

🀝 By banding together, this community didn’t just clean up; they crafted a solution. They repurposed trash, averting water pollution, wildlife threats, and vacation disruptions, showcasing their creativity and environmental stewardship.
