Jane Goodall Instagram – πΏ Every rescue matters! When infant chimpanzees are saved from the illegal wildlife trade, they arrive at Tchimpounga Sanctuary very young and often in dire need of both physical and emotional healing. Under the care of JGI’s dedicated staff, each one receives a personalized care plan along with the company of peers their own age.
πΌβ‘οΈπ₯£ As these young chimps grow and switch from milk to solid foods, they begin enjoying nutritious soy porridge, which is crucial for their development and health. And it doesn’t stop there! They’re also gently introduced to the forest, where they learn to forage for wild fruits, nuts, seeds, and more as almost half of a chimpanzee’s diet is fruit.
π³π With this blend of socialization, stable nutrition, and hands-on learning in their natural habitat, these rescued chimpanzees gain the physical and mental strength they need. It’s not just about survival; itβs about fostering a life filled with joy and companionship. π΅π
