Each generation of women there is a different bunch- yet all yielding the same outcome-Keep you exhausted on the road to equality. Which simply- does not exist. Yes, it’s set up this way. Make you doubt and hate yourself to the point of giving up. Make you so soul crushed that YOU couldn’t do it ,whatever it is, that you’ll buy into ANYTHINg you’re being sold to make you “better”. Better woman, better worker, better mother, better wife, better employee, look better, be more digestible, younger, more likeable and by all means less intimidating and etc etc etc etc etc etc etc…….. Just last week I spoke to a high level, female WOC, executive at a HUGE network. She’s in charge of developing shows and putting them on the air. We spoke about just this. She said to me -the fight is REAL- on the inside- to get content that is different from what we’ve seen for years is a DAILY fight. She spoke about how hard she had to work, and still does, to stay where she is and that making you weary is part of the agenda. Was I shocked- no I was not. However, how deep it all goes- that still gets me. This is all areas. Maybe time to look at it straight on. !? I Applaud @stylistmagazine for putting this out there. Go read article. Maybe you’ll start to realize YOU haven’t failed. You simply weren’t meant to win in the first place. Now that you know- what u gonna do?
