Without a doubt the unsung hero of any production is the Script Supervisor, colloquially know as, ‘Scripty’.
To summarize their job is nearly impossible, because they don’t have one job. They have ten.
Not only are they tracking continuity (which means making sure sets, costumes, props, actions, hair, and makeup stay consistent from one take to the next and across scenes and episodes), they have also made sure you’ve said your lines correctly, documented camera movement, lenses/filters used, number of takes, written the director’s notes on each take for the edit, timed the freaking scenes and I’m not capturing half of it (breaking down a script before shooting is another mountain as are the production reports at the end of the day). How they do their job without 4 extra sets of arms and eyes and 5 more hours in a day still baffles me.
From an actors’ perspective, the good ones know how to catch anything that might pull the audience out of a moment or do disservice to the writer, the great ones know how to do that while also allowing the actors and director to have enough freedom to bring the scenes to life. And the best ones do both of those things while offering emotional support, performance guidance if needed (they often know your characters arch better than you do), and friendship on the day.
This lady here isn’t just one of the best ones, she’s THE best one.
The Mother of all Scriptys (@clarkgregg I believe you coined that)
@mellw2lls any set is a much more dreary place without you.

This is @shannonkelseyhokama, @kathymillslynch, and @abnergold. These are the ladies who created Teeter’s look and made an injury so real, I literally started passing out the first time I saw it. Anyone who works in the industry knows that hair and makeup teams are never just beauticians, they are also, essentially, your on set therapists – keeping your secrets, holding your feelings, cheering you on.
You women are the cream of the crop.

Thank you @ira_mira and @saintbyiradewitt for the beautiful necklace and bracelet. They made me feel so purdy and classy. I love them. 💕✨💫

It takes two to tango.
And Teeter certainly belongs to @lindygorham as much as she does to me.
Think I roped that steer in episode 2? Nope. Stood on a super high roof in episode 3? No freakin’ way. And any stunt I did myself this season required that Lindy be there hours earlier – to learn it, test it, and walk me through it.
She is a teacher, a badass, a confidant, and a friend.
I couldn’t have done it without you.
And unfortunately I have to also thank the super mean-looking guy, who is laughing his arse off in photo #3, for assembling an amazing team – the sorta coolest stunt-coordinator ever, Mr. @jrodstunts
💛 you, Lindy.
Jrod – you’re okay, too. 💛

I never wish this guy a happy birthday, because I’m a horrible friend, but today, on a random day, I am publicly celebrating him. I’ve known him since he was 13 and I was 16. When I was 21, and he was 18, he introduced me to my first manager. One month later I was a series regular on a show that would give me three Emmys. Twelve years after that he became my manager when no one else would touch me. I was in a dry spell, my reps had dropped me, and I was considered old, redundant, and “beyond help” according to my prior agency. When we signed our paper napkin contract my life completely changed. Now, I can sit in my hotel room, working on my dream show, and say thank you @nateament . You have been my angel and champion more times than I can count. So Happy Un-Birthday. I celebrate you everyday.
So grateful and excited to be a part of this show. I couldn’t have asked for a greater group of people to work with.
Get ready to meet Teeter.

It’s Saturday night y’all.

That’s a wrap on Season 3 of Yellowstone for Teeter. The last few months have been exhilarating, rewarding, and filled with the kindest, wildest, and bloody talented folks I know. I will miss them all.
Also, Jake, I know you can’t read this because you are a horse, but I will miss you most of all.

Today is Diana Nyad’s Birthday. For those of you who don’t know, she was the first person to swim without a shark cage from Cuba to Florida and she did it at the age of 64 – a feat that no one of any age or gender had done prior.
I carry a photo of her on me to always remind me that we are never too old to go after our dreams and that the pursuit of those dreams is how we become who we are meant to become.
Happy Birthday Great Inspirer.

Work today was pretty great.
Apparently, I don’t suck at riding anymore.
I might go full-blown full-time cowboy.

Going strong for 33 years long.
Happy Birthday Lil’ Bro!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 🎉🎂✨
P.S. if you had been my kid, I DEFINITELY would have whored your ass out for commercials and doll boxes. And I’d probably have spent all your child labor money on vitamins and facial-fillers instead of putting it in your college fund.
Anyway, HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIATCH!!!!!!!!!!

Bon weekend.
Foster needed!!!!!!! Contact @roadogsandrescuedogs !
Her name is Abigail. She’s 8 years old and is apparently very sweet!
We lost a great poet this year. September 10th would have been her birthday. A few weeks ago, while I was cleaning out my documents, I found a letter I had written to her years ago. Of course, I never sent it. Like so many others.
Happy Belated Birthday, Mary Oliver.
Thank you for changing my life.
