Breastfeeding is not as easy as I thought. ‘You just whip your boob out, right?’ 😝 But it’s more complex. Finding comfy positions for both of us 8 times a day. Wondering if I’m dehydrated as I feel liquid being sucked out of me. Trying to remember how much protein I ate today. Wanting to wear that dress but I can’t, because I can’t feed her in that. Feeling people’s eyes on me as I feed her in public. Feeling people AVOID looking at me when I’m feeding her. Wondering HOW somehow she’s able to bite with no teeth???! 🫣 Worried about my supply dipping, especially around my cycle. Wanting to make plans but knowing I can’t be gone for too long, cause I gotta pump. Feeling the responsibility and pride of being able to feed and comfort her at the same time. Seeing her eyes look up at me and knowing how close we are in that moment. And the overwhelming urge to quit sometimes because it would be seemingly easier, but knowing once I’m done, I can’t go back. But now we’re arriving at the first mini-goal. 6 months. 6 months of nothing but boob juice. And I feel almost a little selfish that I’m excited for her to start food, but resentful. How will I know whether that new lock of hair was because of me or a sweet potato? Am I wrong to feel this way? I grew her. She was built in my tummy and from my body. Just me. A blessing and a sacrifice. This is motherhood, isn’t it? The heartbreaking happiness of growth. 🥹 We’re still pretty fresh to all this, but what a journey it’s been. I hope to keep going. A year? We’ll see. Shoutout to all the mamas who chose to/were able to do this for their babies. 🫶🏻 We are life-bringers, caretakers, and warriors. #breastfeedingmom #breastfedbaby #ftm

we had a lovely picnic featuring my fave @hellyeahglutenfree treats 🍩 and FaceTiming with our mamas! Ryder came along too and isn’t 75 degrees the most PERFECT weather??! Cora is wearing a vintage dress made by my late grandma that I think I wore as a babe. And Kevin has been so sweet, he got me this beautiful birth stone necklace and printed out a poem that made me cry 🥹 (that we already spilled water on) 😂

6 months 🍩 1/2way to one! ✨I thought this day was always so far away, but now here we are (3 days late lol). Our baby girl is the best little cutie pie and brings so much joy to our lives. She loves: 🍩 people (She’s never met a stranger)! 🥰 🍩 tummy sleeping 😴 🍩 watching her furry brothers and sister 🐶🐾 🍩 lights & fans! 💡 🍩 peas 🫛 🍩 grabbing our arms during diaper changes, pulling it to her mouth, and giggling when we pull it back 😂 🍩 kicking her chunky little legs 🥖 Cannot believe she’s been in our lives for half a year. It’s been so incredible seeing her grow and change!! 🫶🏻

happy mother’s day 🤍 Two years ago, 🥹 I wondered if this day would come. One year ago, we found out we were having a little girl. 💕 I feel so lucky that you’re here. Honored I’m your mama, and respect for all those who have come before me. 🙌🏼
Happy Easter from our lil chick 🐣☺️

Stan’s home!! 🐈⬛🥳 After a scary wake up to cat howls yesterday morning, an emergency vet visit, overnight stay, and a $3k bill, our little guy is back. He had a urinary obstruction and his bladder was the size of a grapefruit 😳 This condition can be fatal in cats (esp. males) in as little as 24 hours if it’s not treated. I’ve been doing lots of research about this, and it’s quite common. I found a blog that was pretty heartbreaking as it had countless owners talking about their cats passing from this – either due to the condition developing too quickly, or repeat expensive vet visits they couldn’t afford so they made the impossible choice to euthanize. 🥲 It’s really sad that our pets (and even sometimes human lives) can come down to money. We luckily had enough for this bill, but not another one anytime soon. Chances are that this will probably occur again for him. So we plan to make some changes that are fairly affordable and humane to give our guy the best life he can have! – Making the switch to wet food. Cats’ diets need moisture in them and kibble doesn’t give them enough in its own. I read that it’s very important to give them extra fluids, by either soaking dry food or giving wet food, especially for boy cats! – Dust free litter. So cat litter doesn’t go in his little pee-pee 🤭 potentially causing another obstruction. – Using apple cider vinegar if we notice more flare ups. Farmers swear by this and I found an entire YouTube video comment section saying this saved their cats from having a blockage! – Keeping it calm. They said an underlying possibility is stress. Stan seems unphased by everything, but we’ll do our best to keep him that way. 😆 Thanks for all your well wishes for Stan!! Our animals are our family so we’re very happy to be reunited. #flutd #fus #fic #idiopathicfelinecystitis #urinaryobstruction #catlover

Grandparents. 💛 Mom made her giggle and Dad threw her in the air (which she loved). It’s so surreal seeing her interact with people she’s a part of. We dreamed of the day we could take family vacations with our future baby, and now it’s happening. We are so lucky. And a reminder to those whose dreams and wishes aren’t here yet.. they’re coming. ✨

My grandma made this beautiful yellow dress years ago for one of her granddaughters. And even though she’s no longer here – her *great* granddaughter got to wear it under a beautiful mossy oak tree. Thank you to my Aunt Rhonda for gifting me all these beautiful clothes. 💛

This deserved a permanent place on the feed 😆 she LOVES food.. but strawberries 🥴
It was such a treat to eat wonderful food and drinks outside in the sun with so many kids around. ☀️I had a moment where I was like, “wait.. this is our life now?” 🥹 With the beautiful (and chaotic lol) nature of all these sweet little souls. I’m thankful for all our friends that feel like family. ❤️ Shoutout to Trader Joe’s for all the flowers (for under $50!!!) and the thrift store lace tablecloth that is actually the Last Supper. 🤣 I really get off on party planning and am so grateful we have a great backyard to host in! #springparty #springishere #springpartyinspo #traderjoesftw #ftparents #firsttimeparents #babies #friendswithbabies
