This didn’t happen overnight.
It happened because career politicians tinkered around with little fixes, rather than switch up the way Congress thinks about housing. I’m fighting to shake up how Washington works.
I’ve spent my time in Congress putting Californians—not special interests—first. In just a few years, 7️⃣ of my bills have been signed into law to lower costs and improve mental health coverage. I’ll keep using every tool in my toolbox to shake up Washington so it delivers for us.

I have long spoken up about how clean school buses save taxpayer dollars, improve student performance, and protect our communities’ health. Thanks to the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, @epagov is investing another $1B to electrify bus fleets—including right here in Orange County.
I’m proud to secure this assistance to keep our community healthy, but California still isn’t getting our fair share of federal help—despite educating nearly one in eight American students. I introduced a bill to get rid of this limitation.
