Starting a little Mat Series here for those who like to do their movement at home & appreciate the foundations of mat pilates (kinda like ballet for technical dance, etc) but also want ways to spice it up 🌶️

Today’s Mat Series: Single Leg Stretch Variations

TRADITIONAL:
• lift head and shoulders off the mat (stay down if you’re modifying)
•outside hand goes to outside ankle, inside hand goes on shin
• draw belly button down into your spine like someone is trying to poke you and you’re like “helll no”
• bring one knee in to your chest as you lengthen the other
• exhale to switch
• 5x on each leg

WEIGHTS PRESSED DOWN:
• can start with head and shoulders down for a set then lift for another
• actively press the weights into the floor, keeping the chest open
• 5x each leg

WEIGHTS LIFTED:
• same exact form, just reach the dumbbells towards the front of your mat about hip height or higher
• 5x each leg

If you loved that burn, feel free to repeat all 3 sets 1-2 more times ✨
