Kirsten Ramsay Instagram – I love glass and I love colour! This Venetian millefiori glass lamp was a beautiful combination of both but it arrived at The Repair Shop in dreadful condition, just about holding together with old tape and failing adhesives. I could immediately see its potential and recognise what a beautiful object it had been.
It was much loved and still in daily use despite its precarious condition.
This was a wonderful challenge and tested my glass conservation skills.
The glass was dismantled, cleaned and reassembled and once put back together was stable and safe to use, hopefully for many more years to come.
With thanks to #markstucky our electronics whizz who helped to safely rewire the lamp despite its fragile condition.
