COMING SOON to @hirshhorn “Laurie Anderson: The Weather,” the largest-U.S. exhibition of her artwork at the Hirshhorn Museum, Sept. 24-July 21, 2022. For more than four decades, Anderson has investigated issues of our time such as American identity and the effects of technology on human relationships and language. This dynamic, full-floor exhibition will showcase her creative process, featuring her work in video, performance, installation, painting and other media. Drawing on the Hirshhorn’s distinctive architecture, the exhibition will be laid out as an ongoing narrative. Guiding visitors on a journey through her work, Anderson will interject at points throughout our cylindrical space; portions of walls will be covered with writing and images that the artist has directly hand-painted.
