Mary Katharine Ham Instagram – Took all 4 kids to meet @karolinpublic and kids at Mt. Vernon, which is a bit of a family tradition at this point whenever they’re in town. It went great except for the part where George Washington built retaining walls on his back lawn in such a way as to not spoil the view in any direction, so it’s impossible to tell your toddler is headed for a 4-ft drop because you just think it’s just a cute row of bricks and then a teenager from a tour group who can see from another angle swoops in to save her. Thanks, teenager! Those invisible retaining walls are called “Haha walls” because it’s very funny to foil a veteran mom who is being very chill about her toddler, Father of Our Country.
