At some point I’ll tell you about the proposed hydroelectric dam, the mining, the soy plantations, the agribusiness barons and corrupt politicians… that’s why I came here – to tell the story of the Amazon and the numerous threats to her existence that she is facing at the moment. But for now I just want to remind myself, and all of you – of what we are fighting for. Clean water, primary rainforest, unbelievable biodiversity. Maybe you will never visit this beautiful place and so it’s easy to vote for leaders and laws that want to destroy it. But I hope to help communicate the love and wonder and awe that this place inspires to those that call her home. That story is even more important. Because you protect what you love. And if we are not doing this for love that what are we doing? ❤️ 🇧🇷 Meu sonho era vir morar aqui no ano que vem, mas o universo tinha outros planos. Em algum momento, vou te falar sobre a usina hidrelétrica proposta, a mineração, as plantações de soja, os barões do agronegócio e os políticos corruptos… foi por isso que vim aqui, para contar a história da Amazônia e as inúmeras ameaças à sua existência que ela está enfrentando no momento. Mas por agora, só quero me lembrar, e lembrar a todos vocês, do que estamos lutando. Água limpa, floresta primária, biodiversidade incrível. Talvez você nunca visite esse lugar lindo, então é fácil votar em líderes e leis que querem destruí-lo. Mas espero poder comunicar o amor, a maravilha e o encanto que esse lugar inspira naqueles que o chamam de lar. Essa história é ainda mais importante. Porque você protege o que ama.
