Oon Shu An Instagram – When I started to recognise and believe that true evil exists, the world became infinitely more scary. And I mean conscious, purposeful, repetitive evil. Not mistakes that happen because we are all human, no one is infallible. And sometimes we make excuses maybe because we cannot or dont want to believe that true evil is a possibility. But even though the world seemed scarier, I then also started to better appreciate the power of love, people (myself included) who are genuinely trying but fail and fuck up because you see them take accountability and make amends. I better appreciate a shared humanity, and the struggle it is to hold on to humanity in a very harsh world. But pretending that evil doesn’t exist, and ignoring it, rationalising it, just allows it to seep into our souls.
