Betsy Newman @betsynwmn came from Columbia, SC to interview me for the upcoming documentary on #LesNickelettes – 1970s-80s San Francisco women’s theatre collective dedicated to feminism, glitter and fabulous outfits. Based on the book @anarchyinhighheels written by Denise Larsen @nickelette1 Documentary should be done by sometime next year 3. Participating in the shoot was @jbtorresmedina who worked with @iamsusangallagher – small world!
@itsdenisesantos and me at the @latinasinmediaatl mixer following the panel “Keeping The Conversation Moving Forward in Film and TV” -an inspirational, moving and frank conversation among #Latine creatives, @danicintron @rogerpayano @lina_alejandra @richperez @erikfromelbarrio in front of a SRO TV, Film, and Arts industry audience. Denise and #LIMA organized this panel, and she has done more than anyone I know in the last few years to push forward the needle for #latinx #representation #diversityandinclusion and #community in the Southeast. And also btw (and I am not blowing smoke) she is an extraordinary actress and we are still waiting for the great day we can work together. Adore this chica. #representationmatters Finally — I know I’m over posting, but yesterday was a chock-full day of inspiration and connection. Went to a bookstore to buy a gift book and I saw this. I was sad for a moment. Then I smiled. A charmed life I have had these past several years.
