I had the gift of working with Matthew Perry on The Good Wife. It hit me hard with yesterday’s news. It’s always strange but on my job as director, I form bonds with actors. It’s the joy of my life. So, I found myself so sad yesterday. My experience was that he was intense, sincere, funny, sarcastic, and committed. He was so nervous to be good enough with Julianna. I saw how great he was at dramatic acting! He was a great nemesis for Alicia Florrick. Julianna did run lines so patiently and generously with him! He was also down to earth. We ate lunch together — not too many actors do that! And we went to a Halloween party together! His loss hits hard. Repost from @juliannamargulies • I’m so sorry life wasn’t easier for you. I witnessed your struggle every day when we worked together and I loved sitting with you and running our lines. RIP Matthew. I hope there is peace now wherever you are. 🩷🩷🩷
Two phases of my life: one before, one after. One as the true walking dead, the second as a director on The Walking Dead! I’ve had the intense and immense gift of living two lives. One life as a homeless, drug addict living like a cockroach in the streets. My second life as a transformed, blessed woman who gets to be a wife, friend, director and a useful, productive human. Every year, this day Oct 12 comes when I’m overwhelmed with gratitude and humility. Love and forgiveness are the most powerful assets we all possess that we can freely give to ourselves and to each other. Thank you to the universe, and all the people who have offered me love that has strengthened and healed me one day at a time. With 582,000 homeless people in our country, I never take this gift of a second chance for granted. Honestly, I’m living proof that miracles are real. At one time, a shower every day was impossible. Today, anything is possible. Never give up hope. 🙏🏻❤️🙌🏻🎬

So relieved the strike is over! Wanted to pay tribute to The Walking Dead crew — and to all crew people on every show — because they truly keep all us directors, actors, writers and producers looking good! Here you can see how hot it is in Georgia — it was 104 degrees — by the sweat! Yet, every single person from camera to stunts to special effects makeup puts in 150% effort. Let’s get back to work! #thewalkingdead #twd #crewlife #crew ❤️ this is behind the scenes from Sing Me a Song episode

Repost from @dtlafilmfest • It’s an honor to be kicking off our festival with Hail Mary, an exceptional retelling of the Mary and Joseph story from Rosemary Rodriguez @rosemarydirects. On the making of this film Rosemary said, “When I read Knate Lee’s script, I was moved by the adventure, the humor, the suspense, the violence, and the fun – then it hit me: this story actually gets inside the struggles of a very real immigrant journey. Maria, like thousands of others, would stay in her beloved country if only it was safer, if only she had the opportunities to provide a better life for her baby. Instead, she chooses to risk her life to illegally cross the border into the US.” Commenting on her inspiration, she explained, “Many of us, including myself, have deep familial relationships with Latinos, and have experienced firsthand their invisibility in society. Yet for me, they are all I see. The most profound, impactful love I have ever felt for anyone is for my husband Nestor. I’m telling this story for him, his culture, and my own extended family. And for all those who wish to make their lives better – and more fun.” Join us for the screening on November 1st! #dtlaff #hailmary

Master filmmaker legend Roger Corman RIP. 😢 This icon is an inspiration not only for his body of work, but for the number of people whose careers he started! Incredible. Thanks to the equally awesome @galeannehurd for giving me the opportunity to meet this kind, incredible man.

Do people really not know the basics??!! On location shooting. Working with highly skilled crew who apparently need extra instructions with flushing a toilet. This is what the location dept does: takes care of all the details where we’re shooting. ❤️😀
