Sepideh Moafi Instagram – Over the moon for my beloved friend @chefnasrinlove who just opened her first restaurant #NasrinsKitchen in NY! 🥹 Her cooking is out of this world & she just happens to be one of the kindest, loveliest people on earth. 😍 Nasrin was forced to flee Iran w/her three beautiful kids in 2014. They stayed in Turkey for two years before coming to NY. After a rough period living in a shelter, she joined the phenomenal team of refugee chefs from all over the world at @eatoffbeat (where we met in 2018–see second photo!) She later told me she was excited to meet me because she didn’t speak much English at the time & didn’t know many Farsi speakers so when we met, she burst into tears (as did I!) & we held each other as we talked & talked & talked. Since then, we’ve collaborated on a number of events. I’m looking forward to many, many more Nasrin jan.
