Sharon Van Etten Instagram – hi friends,

Are We There turns 10 this year, which has had me reflecting on so many things … am I where I thought I would be in my 40s? how did we expect our lives to unfold over 10 years? from when I wrote the record to now, so much has changed. everything has changed. my mentality, my surroundings, my family, and how I see the world. It’s hard to say where “there” was when I wrote the record and if I’ve reached it yet. So…. I want to ask you all:

are we there?

I would love to hear your thoughts, stories, ruminations…

I myself don’t have an answer, but in the past couple weeks i’ve put together some thoughts on the past and present, on how time has shaped my life. I hope some of it resonates with you.
