Sheryl Sandberg Instagram – Yesterday Representative Debbie Wasserman Schultz (@repdws), Senator Joni Ernst (@senjoniernst), Representative Mario Diaz-Balart (@repmariodb), and Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (@senkirstengillibrand) hosted a Congressional screening of @ScreamsBeforeSilence. We were joined by Leader Schumer (@senschumer) who is always a strong voice for women and for justice. Together we discussed the sexual violence Hamas committed on October 7th, the alarming rise of antisemitism, and how we can push for the return of hostages. We were also joined by two people I admire so much: Rachel Goldberg-Polin and Jon Polin, whose son Hersh was taken hostage by Hamas and remains in captivity. Every day since October 7th, Rachel and Jon have relentlessly advocated for Hersh and all of the hostages. Their ability to find strength in unimaginable pain is nothing short of awe-inspiring. It was so powerful seeing a bipartisan group of leaders come together to stand against sexual violence. May their example inspire us all to unite around this fundamental truth: rape should never occur in peace or war.
