Today, I want to highlight this remarkable mother, Diane Foley who lost her son Jim, a journalist, after he was captured and murdered by ISIS terrorists. Seven years later, Diane bravely sat face to face with her son’s killer to hear his story, which she describes in her book American Mother. She has since championed for American hostages overseas and created the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation to help secure hostage freedom. @theofficialsting was approached to write a song for the documentary Jim: The James Foley Story. He was so moved by his story that he wrote the song called The Empty Chair in his honor. I am so in awe of Diane’s strength and resilience. She is an inspiration to all.
