An unforgettable few days in Morocco with dearest friends, basking in the golden light and enjoying the amazing Berber hospitality in Skoura, Ouarzazate. I hitchhiked around Morocco in my late teens and have never forgotten how welcoming and generous the people were. Such a pleasure to return and feel that same warmth and friendship!

Join me in celebrating the incredible strength and love of mothers as we lead up to Mother’s Day by spotlighting inspiring stories. Let’s shine a light on their journeys and cherish the bonds that make us who we are.
Today, I want to highlight this remarkable mother, Diane Foley who lost her son Jim, a journalist, after he was captured and murdered by ISIS terrorists. Seven years later, Diane bravely sat face to face with her son’s killer to hear his story, which she describes in her book American Mother. She has since championed for American hostages overseas and created the James W. Foley Legacy Foundation to help secure hostage freedom.
@theofficialsting was approached to write a song for the documentary Jim: The James Foley Story. He was so moved by his story that he wrote the song called The Empty Chair in his honor.
I am so in awe of Diane’s strength and resilience. She is an inspiration to all.
Congratulations Sir David on your 98th Birthday!
We are both led by your inspirational work,
protecting our precious planet and guiding us
with your wisdom and knowledge. The world
has much to thank you for, highlighting the plight of endangered species, threatened habitats and the need to conserve wild places on earth. With you, the World is more wonderful!
Happy Birthday, dearest David.
With love from us both

Good news from @help_ukraine_center as the truck load of new supplies reaches east Ukraine. More than 3,200 families have received help from this consignment via @spivdiia, the third party distribution NGO working with Help Ukraine Center. Valentyna, photographed here, lives in Odessa with her family, displaced by the heavy fighting in Kharkiv. She was among the first to receive supplies. Help Ukraine Center says the need remains very high, with calls for more humanitarian support from the global community. Priorities are dried foods to supplement what can be bought locally. Power banks for lighting are vital as well as basic medical kits. Each month, Help Ukraine Center publishes a list of updated needs which can be found on their website. @theofficialsting and I have campaigned for and helped support Help Ukraine Center for more than 2 years. It is a fast moving humanitarian organisation on the ground with phenomenal contacts and partnerships to move supplies across the country as quickly as possible. Big thanks to our allies, founders, and friends at Help Ukraine Center @stavnitser_andrey @rudnieva_olga @nzhook and for the incredible work they do. 🇺🇦

Honouring Mother’s Day all month long! 💕
This week I wanted to honour and pay tribute to an incredible Mother, Maria Garofalos. We first met in Ecuador in 2007 while I was campaigning for access to safe drinking water in the rainforest communities of Sucumbíos and Orellana with @rainforest_fund. Maria and her five children lived close to an oil drilling station, surrounded by pollution. For years the illegal dumping of toxic waste had caused a catastrophic health crisis in the area. Exceedingly high cases of cancer, childhood leukemia, and birth defects were prevalent. Maria and Sylvia, one of her eldest children, were both being treated for cancer, believed to be the result of drinking contaminated water.
Each week Maria and Sylvia made the 300 km round trip to Quite for medical treatment. With little money, Maria would often sacrifice her own chemotherapy, sending Sylvia if there was only enough for one bus fare. Her selflessness and courage as a mother stays with me today.
She represents all that is valuable; her towering strength and support for her children, putting them first no matter what, despite her own sickness. Today, I’m happy to say she and all her children are fit and well and Maria has just celebrated her 50th Birthday, surrounded by her loving children 💚💚! Happy Mother’s Day Maria.

This week, I want to highlight the incredible mothers who left Ukraine during the invasion in order to protect their children while their country is at war. While working with @help_ukraine_center I was able to meet with some of these brave women and hear their stories. Two such mothers, Tatyana from Kryvyi Rih and Galyna from Luhansk both described the moment they decided to leave Ukraine. Under Russian bombardment with just the belongings they could carry and their children in tow, they set off to find safety. Tatyana and Galyna spoke of their long journey and their relief to finally reach Lublin, in Poland. Working as volunteers at the Help Ukraine Center warehouse, they spoke of their dream to return home with their children as soon as they could. Their courage and resilience are awe-inspiring. Thank you Help Ukraine Center for providing safety, refuge and work for these mothers as they care for their children and families thousands of miles from their home in Ukraine. Thank you @stavnitser_andrey @rudnieva_olga @nzhook 🇺🇦
Congratulations to the Message In A Bottle dance company choreographer Kate Prince – amazing and provocative story told through stellar dancing.

I’m excited to announce that our NEW Roxanne Red and White IGT Toscana wines will soon be available in Italy, complete with beautiful new branding courtesy of the Elliott Erwitt estate. Elliott was one of the most wonderful photographers of the last 70 years, and our friend and neighbour in New York City for a long time, so we are truly honoured that last year he gave us permission to use another one of his stunning photographs for our wines. The image, Sting’s song and the wine…. A potent combination. #winewednesday
This week for #FemaleFilmmakerFriday, I want to highlight the incredible writer, producer, and showrunner Jess Brownell for her work on the latest season of Bridgerton! Jess is a prominent figure in the entertainment industry, known for her innovative storytelling and creative vision. As a showrunner, she has made significant contributions to the world of television, particularly through her work with Shondaland, including shows such as Grey’s Anatomy, Private Practice, and Scandal. She also helped in creating the critically acclaimed Netflix limited series Inventing Anna, a captivating drama inspired by the true story of Anna Sorokin, a con artist who posed as a wealthy New York socialite. While she contributed to previous seasons of the hit series Bridgerton, the highly anticipated season 3, which premiered yesterday, will be Jess’ first as showrunner. Congratulations Jess!

Despite strides in cinema, of the 21 films set to premiere at the Cannes film festival this year so far, only four are directed by women. Yet, we applaud Andrea Arnold, Coralie Fargeat, Payal Kapadia, and Agathe Riedinger for their remarkable works selected for the spotlight. Let’s champion their talent and push for a more inclusive cinematic landscape! See the full article at the link in bio.
