In the spring of ’22 right after this story hit the headlines, i casually mentioned in a development meeting that I thought it would be fun to play Vicky White. Next thing I knew, the whole project was set up and a script was being written! I wish everything in life could be this easy. The movie premiered on Lifetime on October 21, but because of the strike I couldnt really say much about it, but now i can!!!! This Foster Care Awareness Month we’re showing foster youth (current and former) some extra love by dropping a little something to let them know someone is thinking of them!🫶🏼
WHY ARE WE DOING THIS?
01. It’s Foster Care Awareness Month and we want youth to feel loved and celebrated!
02. Many foster youth age out at 18 years old without any family or support when they enter the real world. During this month (and beyond), we want youth to know that there are people in the world that care about them and that they are not alone in the journey of life.
BIG thank you to @wendimclendoncovey for taking time to make this possible. She got to sit with Alicia and hear her story of overcoming challenging experiences and persevering to pursue an incredible career and future for herself and her daughter. She is truly a superhero for all that she has done and continues to do daily. We ❤️ you, Alicia, and we are so happy to have you in our CareerX program and the Foster Nation Fam!
Alicia shared with us that “after just two weeks in CareerX, my coach and Foster Nation were able to help me get a new car so I could get to work. Outside of just that, they have helped me emotionally, mentally, and financially. I am so so grateful!”

Definition of a good friend: someone who will execute your last wishes exactly the way you wanted, no matter how bizarre or eccentric. We toured the Honey Island Swamp on Wednesday, and one of our fellow passengers had a small bottle of his good friends ashes. She had a passion for alligators and wanted her remains to end up in the belly of a gator, so her friend asked the captain of our boat for a protein pellet (healthier for the gators than the marshmallows alot of tours use) and a pocket knife. He made a hole in the pellet, filled it with her ashes, and threw it to this gator. It was beautiful. Like the ending of a movie. Long story longer: @poncibadia, you will be required to do the same thing for me, but with a pack of feral cats.
Spent a couple of blissful hours at our happy place this weekend. Thank you once again to the whole @wolfconnection crew for the experience, and for @davidwdriscoll and @blackcatandwhitecat for organizing everything! If you’re in So Cal, you MUST pay them a visit!
