Lee Hsien Loong Instagram – World leaders, defence and military officials, security experts and policymakers from the region and beyond are in Singapore for the annual IISS Shangri-la Dialogue.
Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. (@bongbongmarcos) gave the keynote address at the opening dinner last night. The meetings and discussions on strategic security issues will continue over the weekend.
The Dialogue is taking place during a troubled time. There is ongoing conflict in Gaza and Ukraine, and nearer home, growing tensions in the South China Sea. These complex issues cannot be resolved during a summit, but at such a neutral platform the different sides can meet and communicate openly.
