Lee Hsien Loong Instagram – Religious leaders play an important role in engaging communities and building bridges between the different religious groups in Singapore. Glad to have an opportunity to catch up with some of them when I visited Masjid Ba’alwie yesterday.
Built in 1952 by an Imam from the Al-Attas family, the mosque is home to a “mini-museum” of religious artefacts and texts, not just from Islam but also all other major faiths. The fact that texts and artefacts from diverse religions can all be displayed together in the mosque is a wonderful example of the inter-religious friendship and cooperation we enjoy here.
We must work hard to strengthen religious harmony in Singapore. Religious leaders, like those from @iro.sg, are key to maintaining trust and respect between the different groups. I am very grateful for their efforts to bring the great faiths together. Long may this continue! – LHL
