Sam Neill Instagram – Our dear Southern NZ Dotterel is in trouble . Department of Conservation’s latest count shows just 101 birds left , with a 19% decline this year alone . These beautiful creatures , who nest in the alpine tops of Rakiura , are being decimated by feral cats .
