Sam Neill Instagram – ONE BIG PILE OF STEAMING … MANURE. News – yesterday at the we won ‘Sustainable Vineyard of the Year’ at the Aotearoa NZ Organic Wine Awards ( plus 2 Golds & 2 Silvers for our wines) . Very proud. Manure of course is central to that and our fully organic approach. What is it ? If you must know – grape skins and stems, meadow hay , and cowshit. Waste from the vineyard and farm all used in other words. What does it do ? Provides organic matter for the soil , food for our vines , beneficial funghi and bacteria , adding nitrogen to the earth etc .
