I spent the day in Griffith, regional NSW, speaking at their annual DV conference on my dear mum’s birthday.
Every year when I ask mum what she wants for her birthday, she smiles and says, “There’s one birthday wish that no-one can make come true – time with my Niki”.
Men’s violence is an issue that crosses every part of Australia, but we can’t pretend it’s the same everywhere.
Meeting with, and hearing from, the frontline services in regional Australia is a privilege and a reminder of our responsibility to community.
These areas feel some of the worst impacts of social issues yet are the last to receive support. Government types, if you’re reading then fully fund services *ahem*
