Nearly half of all young people aged 18-34 don’t vote. That is 6 million people. 4 million aren’t registered to vote. If they don’t register, they can’t vote and won’t have a say in their future. The things they care about won’t matter to politicians, whether it’s gender or racial justice, safety online or on the streets, climate change or affordable housing. And this year, new voter ID laws will make it harder for first-time voters to participate – especially trans and non binary people, Black and people of colour, people with disabilities, those from poorer backgrounds and the unemployed.
