Here’s the thing, mama: the gift of birth is that we will have no choice but to surrender to it no matter how much we prepare or plan. However going into one’s birth and postpartum prepared, informed, connected and well supported with aligned team makes a MASSIVE difference. In my experience, those who intentionally prepare for the journey ahead end up with less fear and more flow. They build a greater flexibility to surrender to the waves of change while feeling rooted in their confidence and choices. It’s actually been studied that those who take a childbirth prep class have a reduction in stress!
In a culture that often disregards the innate wisdom of the body, that lacks a spiritual connection to the cycles of life and is captive to the industrial medical complex, it’s more important than ever to reconnect to the wisdom that we already hold within and learn about all of our options so we can make informed choices for ourselves.
