Sam @samontv was larger than life. His way of disarming everyone he met was absolutely legendary. He meant a great deal to so many, including me. Not only did I grow up watching him, but he gave me my first glimpse into tv news when I served as his intern during college. I was very lucky to work with such a talented, iconic, decorated broadcaster for more than a decade. I think anyone who has had that privilege would say the same about Sam.
He was the person who led us through loss like this. What will we do without you, Sam.
You were KTLA. You were LA.
To Sam’s beautiful wife, Leslie, and four kids, I am so sorry. To my forever KTLA family, this is a profoundly painful loss. I know you will all get through it, together. I am always here to support and love you. I am so sorry.
