Elizabeth Maxwell Instagram – I’ve been waiting for this little dude to reveal his name to me before I revealed him to you… but he’s been holding back on me lol, and I’ve got too many cute pictures stacking up, so I decided that named or not, it was time!
It is my pleasure to introduce you to the newest member of my household! This lil angel came into my life thanks to the incredible kindness and generosity of some very good people. Lil man was a neighborhood stray who got attacked by two dogs. He was found injured by one neighbor and rushed to the emergency vet. And then another neighbor (and friend of mine) took him in and cared for him as he recovered. When she posted about trying to find him a good home, something deep inside of me whispered with great conviction that he was meant for me. And so I flew out to Long Beach and brought him home, and he’s been charming every heart in Austin ever since.
Lil dude is an absolutely singular soul. He loves company, and will follow me around from room to room, chatting away merrily. He has impeccable manners for a former street cat, a remarkably trusting and friendly demeanor, and much to my delight, he was a quick study on the art of snuggling.
Today happens to be the two year anniversary of Samson’s passing. Adopting a new cat has inevitably resulted in some sometimes difficult and complicated emotions. You never stop missing those you’ve lost. But I am so glad I opened my heart to new possibilities, because I love this lil dude, and I love being loved by him.
