India de Beaufort Instagram – When I found this dress the bottom half was ruined. Holes, stains and discoloration but the top half was stunning and I couldn’t let her go. I found some white chiffon at @moodfabrics and dyed it as close as I could to match the existing fabric and then took it to my tailor. A classic feature of many 30’s dresses is the V shape seam below the torso so we chopped the original and inserted the new fabric with a V seam which gave us the ability to play and add volume and a small train, all cut on the bias ( as are most designs of this era ). I’ve never worn her. I’ve been saving her for something really special. But I love that sharing her here at least means she gets to be seen.
