India de Beaufort Instagram – Every Tuesday I am celebrating actors I love!
Today I am spotlighting India de Beaufort, a woman whose smile instantly puts you at ease and draws you in. Equally at home in comedy or drama, India finds the joy in every role she plays. She makes sure to give the crew the attention and respect they deserve, realizing that the final project will only work if we’re all in it together. She recently wrapped a two year run on the hit series NIGHT COURT, and despite having almost 2 decades of professional credits, I know there is still so much more depth to see from her.
I asked India a few questions and here is what she had to say:
WHAT IS A MEMORABLE AUDITION STORY YOU HAVE?
I’m going to group a bunch together. I’ve heard the words “not moving forward, but you made a fan” so many times I thought it was just a nice thing people said to soften the blow. For years the “fans” I had made didn’t amount to actual work. Until it did. At a certain point the jobs I booked shifted from shots in the dark to familiar faces. Every audition counts. And somehow there’s some fire in that. A little extra gun powder to keep you going when it feels like nothing’s landing. It all adds up. The work will pay off. Every audition counts.
WHAT ROLE OR PROJECT THAT YOU’VE DONE ARE YOU MOST PROUD OF?
VEEP. I loved it.
WHAT GOAL DO YOU STILL WANT TO ACHIEVE?
I’d like to lead something with a team and script I love. Anything. A play. An indie. A super low budget passion project. I just want to love the script and the character. I’ve had a career of supporting roles. I’ve had a blast, but I’ve never really gotten to flush out a whole human. I want to live in it. Loose myself in it. And grow.
